One bag measuring 55 x 25 x 35 cm permitted. Including accessories, the bag must not exceed 12 kg.
Accessories permitted include one of the following: handbag, briefcase, camera, small laptop, or one other item of similar or smaller size.
One item of check-in baggage, maximum of
23 kg and 158 cm length, width and height.

Here is the statement made on the KLM website regarding damaged baggage:
'As soon as you find that your baggage is missing when you arrive, please report this to us straight away. In the customs hall at each airport, you will find a baggage service desk where you will receive a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and a file reference number. At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, please go to the desk next to baggage claim area 14 in arrivals hall 2.
If you did not report your missing luggage when you arrived at the airport, you will have 21 days to do so at the airport where you arrived. Once this period has expired, we will no longer be able to process your report.'

- Aqualung cylinders which are filled
- Bleaches
- Camping gas cylinders
- Cigarette lighters including refills
- Corrosive materials
- Deeply refrigerated gases - liquid nitrogen
- Explosives
- Fireworks of any description
- Flares
- Flammable & non flammable gas - aerosols
- Flammable liquids including paints
- Thinners and solvents
- Flammable solids including firelighters
- Gas cylinders of all descriptions
- Infectious substances
- Mace spray
- Mercury
- Oxidising materials
- Organic peroxides
- Poisons
- Tear gas
- Radioactive materials
Liquids may be carried in your hand baggage but only in small amounts not exceeding 100 ml per article. You must place these in a transparent and sealable plastic bag with a volume of no more than 1 litre. The bag must be closed and the articles must fit inside it easily. One transparent plastic bag may be taken per person.
Sports equipment means diving, golf, ski and water-ski equipment, wind, wave or kite surfing equipment and bicycles (no tandems).
Surf boards longer than 107 cm (42 in), scuba tanks/cylinders and antlers are always considered excess baggage.
If part of your journey is operated by an airline other than KLM or AIR FRANCE, different rules for special baggage may apply. Please check with the relevant airline(s).
